Crawford County – Crawford County Public Health is offering a free walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic for those age 18 and older at the Crawford County Fairgrounds, 610 Whetstone St., Bucyrus, Ohio on March 29, 2021, from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, or while supplies last.
No appointment is needed and you do not need to preregister. You do not need to bring along any insurance information either. There are approximately 800 doses of vaccine available. The clinic will end early if all vaccines are distributed before 6:00 pm. The clinic will be offering the Moderna vaccine and a follow-up clinic will be held in a month to ensure all participants receive the second dose. Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is authorized for use in individuals 18 years of age and older.
“We are very excited to utilize the fairgrounds and thank the County Commissioners and the Fair Board for supporting our efforts. Our goal is to vaccinate everyone in Crawford County that wants to be vaccinated,” explains Kate Siefert, Health Commissioner. “This clinic will help us get one step closer to reaching that goal while providing an easy location that can handle a large number of socially distanced people with plenty of parking.”
Participants should only attend the clinic if they are not currently feeling ill, are not under isolation or quarantine due to COVID-19, and have not received a vaccine of any kind (tetanus, shingles, flu, etc.) within fourteen (14) days of the clinic.
“Whether or not to get vaccinated is a personal choice,” Siefert said. “We encourage participants to consult with their primary care physician or other medical professionals to help them make their own decision. We want people to make an informed decision regarding vaccination based on information provided by a medical professional and not based on hearsay or misinformation.”
Crawford County Public Health has provided over 5,500 doses of COVID-19 vaccine since December. One tip they offer to those planning on attending the clinic is to download and fill out the consent form ahead of time. This will help you move through the clinic process quicker. The consent form can be found and downloaded from the website: www.crawfordhealth.org under the COVID-19 menu. Another suggestion is to wear clothing (or layers of clothing) that allow for easy access to the upper arm.
