BUCYRUS/MARION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced today that troopers will operate an OVI checkpoint this week to deter and intercept impaired drivers. The specific county where the checkpoint will take place will be announced the day prior, and the exact location will be revealed the morning of the checkpoint.
The Patrol urges those who plan to consume alcohol to designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before drinking. “Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired,” the Patrol emphasized.
Operational support for the sobriety checkpoint will be provided by local law enforcement agencies.
