MARION—Marion County Municipal Court Judge Jason Warner and his wife Julia may soon be free from prison.

The Warners were found guilty on April 14th by retired Common Pleas Court Judge Patricia Cosgrove.

Judge Cosgrove sentenced each of the Warner’s to two years in prison. The Warners asked the court for a report date, but Cosgrove ordered them taken into custody and transported to prison.

The Warners were found guilty of complicity by leaving the scene of an accident. The victim, who suffered life-threatening injuries, continues to recuperate.

Jason Warner was sent to the Lorain Correctional Facility and Julia to the Marysville Women’s Prison. Columbus attorney Sam Shamansky informed the court he intended to file an appeal in the case.

In a judgment entry filed by the Third District Of Appeals on Friday, the court stayed the convictions pending appeal. Conditions of the appeal include posting a 100,000.00 bond, no consumption of alcoholic beverages, no operation of a motor vehicle, no consumption of drugs, and no contact with the victim.

Jason Warner’s judgeship was revoked by Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost on September 10th.

Crawford County Now will continue to follow this development.
