MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Bryce Witchey, 28, of Mansfield, initially charged with using the internet to seek sex with an 8-year-old girl, has now been indicted on 31 felony counts related to child pornography, according to Richland County Common Pleas Court records.

Witchey was arraigned last Friday on felony charges brought by a Richland County grand jury. His arrest by Mansfield police on an importuning charge in the early hours of June 14 led to his incarceration at the Richland County Jail, where he remains on a $500,000 bond.

Represented by Mansfield Attorney Rolf Whitney, Witchey has pled not guilty by reason of insanity. Court records show that Witchey is prohibited from accessing any electronic devices or the internet and is not allowed to have any contact with females outside of immediate family and jail staff.

The child pornography indictments against Witchey include 14 second-degree felonies, each punishable with 2-8 years in prison, one fourth-degree charge, punishable with up to 18 months in prison, and 16 fifth-degree allegations, each punishable with up to 12 months in prison. The second-degree felonies pertain to the illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance.

Court records list a trial date of September 5.
