Man arrested on multiple charges after hit-skip crash in Galion

GALIONꟷGalion Police arrested a man on multiple charges after a hit and run accident in the Cherry Street are Tuesday night.

At 10:33 p.m., officers investigated a report of a vehicle hitting a telephone pole then leaving the scene of the crash.

Damion R. Arlen was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to control and operating a vehicle under the influence. Zeger Towing assisted at the scene.

1:06 a.m.-A report of a loud party was investigated in the 400 block of Portland Way North.

3:12 a.m.-A report of a suspicious vehicle was investigated in the 800 block of Ohio 598.

5:39 a.m.-A report of a bag of needles found on a property in the 1300 block of Harding Way East was investigated.

11:17 a.m.-A parking complaint was investigated in the 300 block of East Summit Street. A black pick-up truck was towed from the scene by Ronk’s Towing Service since its plates expired in 2019.

11:18 a.m.-A report of a larceny incident was investigated in the West Atwood Street area.

1:13 p.m.-Officers were assisted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office after a vehicle drove off from the Duke and Duchess station with the pump nozzle still in the tank. There was damage to the pump that caused the leaking of gasoline at the station.

2:15 p.m.-A South Boston Street resident reported two weed trimmers stolen from their porch.

4:23 p.m.- Galion Police assisted the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office at the scene of an overdose in the 7700 block of Ohio 309 after a report was made of an unresponsive person with syringes and a bag of drugs nearby. EMS and fire department personnel also assisted at the scene which was secured and left to the Sheriff’s Office. The person responded to treatment at the scene and was not transported to the hospital.

5:39 p.m.-A domestic dispute was investigated in the 500 block of Third Avenue.

6:28 p.m.-Officers spoke with an unruly juvenile in the 400 block of Beechwood Drive.

6:43 p.m.-A cell phone found in the 500 block of South Market Street was turned over to officers.

7:33 p.m.-A welfare check on children was conducted in the South Union Street area.

8:46 p.m.-A group of juveniles were dispersed from the Heise Park area.

9:10 p.m.-A report of three juveniles attempting to get inside of a church in the 700 block of Cherry Street was investigated. The juveniles were hiding in the doorway.

10:23 p.m.-A West Atwood Street resident reported hearing a loud banging noise outside their residence.
