MARION-On February 18 around 7 am, the METRICH/MARMET Drug Task Force with the assistance of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 3000 block of Marion Waldo Road in Marion County.

During the execution of the search warrant, MARMET detectives located 391 grams of fentanyl and 51 grams of cocaine. Arrested was Jorge Moctezuma Jr, age 23 of Marion, Ohio. Moctezuma was taken to the Multi-County Jail for Trafficking in Fentanyl and Trafficking in Cocaine. Formal charges will be filed by Marion County Prosecutor Ray Grogan.

“The fentanyl found during the execution of this search warrant could kill an estimated 195,000 people and this seizure will undoubtedly save lives of Marion residents. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Marion Police Department, and the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will continue to work together to make sure Marion County is as safe as possible and that includes aggressively seeking out high-level drug traffickers such as we have in this investigation” states Marion County Sheriff Matt Bayles. “We continue to encourage Marion citizens to report suspected drug traffickers to the MARMET Drug Task Force to help us keep this deadly poison out of our county,” said Bayles.

The MARMET Drug Task Force is made of members of the Marion City Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
