GALION—Crawford County Now, through a public records request, has received a copy of the email sent to the Galion City Council by Attorney David Keller. Also included is the last email communication Keller received from the city.

Keller told the council that the city of Galion trespassed on his family’s land to create a bike path. If this issue is not resolved, it could cost the city of Galion thousands of dollars in compensation to the Keller trust and put the bike path in jeopardy.

Members of City Council:

I want to thank you for giving me the time to address you regarding the problem to which I alluded last night.  I didn’t want to have to come to you with this problem, but  a full year of stonewalling by the city administration wore out my patience and there was no other alternative available except for the Common Pleas Court.  The court is always the last alternative.  If the administration reaches out to me, I will be happy to negotiate the terms upon which the City of Galion can purchase this property.   Unfortunately, if that doesn’t happen soon, I will have to post signs advising that anyone who enters that portion of the trail is a trespasser on private property for liability reasons.

I will keep you posted if the administration does not reach out to me on this soon.

P.S.-I am attaching the last email that I have ever received from Thomas Palmer which occurred well prior to this issue developing.  It illustrates why he was so surprised that I would go public as I have always carried his water.  I won’t be anymore.
