CRESTLINE—The second phase of the Main Street Water Line Project in Crestline is underway.

In his report to the Crestline Village Council during the regular meeting Monday evening, Village Administrator Corey Spackey said bids have been posted by Lyn Makeever and the bid opening is scheduled for Thursday, March 25, at 10 a.m. in the council chambers.

He also gave an update to council on the ODNR Grant.

“We still have some groundwork to do on mapping the area with proposed drawings for the upgrades at the swimming pool. I’m hopeful we can do this in-house without using engineering drawings,” said Spackey.

Council passed a resolution to authorize Spackey to transfer real estate owned by the village to the CIC in preparation for the transfer of said property to Avita Health Systems and for ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation) to conduct pavement and bridge maintenance work on US Route 30 within the village limits.

The council also approved an ordinance for permanent appropriations for the village budget.

Spacey said he is starting to receive several property complaints around town regarding trash and general maintenance issues.

“I will be out and about weekly looking at different areas. If you see anything that needs to be addressed, please let me know as soon as possible so I can stay on top of it.  We are also getting use out of the Mayor’s Court Community Service Program so litter pick-up and several other tedious projects will be handled through the court,” said Spackey.

He said storm separation letters will be sent out soon to residents.

“I will be sending out the storm separation letters in April in preparation for smoke testing.  As soon as smoke testing is complete, we will create a list of properties in violation and give notice with a window to remedy the violation,” said Spackey.

The next council meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on April 5.
