Bucyrus police investigating suspicious death at reservoir

BUCYRUS—Today, around 10:25 am, officers and detectives from the Bucyrus Police Department, as well as Bucyrus Firefighters and Portsmouth Ambulance, responded to Outhwaite Reservoir regarding a citizen’s discovery of a possible dead body.  Upon their arrival, BPD and BFD personnel discovered the remains of a male victim in the water near the boat ramp.

The victim was removed from the water by officers and firefighters and was later pronounced dead at the scene by Portsmouth Ambulance.  The Crawford County Coroner and representatives from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) responded to the scene.  The victim’s remains were sent to Lucas County for an autopsy.

The Bucyrus Police Department is investigating this matter as a suspicious death and would ask anyone with information to contact Detective Jamie Carver at BPD, (419) 562-1006.
