BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Richard Barton, a resident of Bucyrus, has tendered his resignation from the Bucyrus City Council Ad Hoc Committee responsible for revising the Bucyrus Property and Maintenance Code. The committee is under the leadership of Bucyrus Councilman James Mee.

In an email sent to the council, Barton expressed his decision to step down, citing the ongoing discord and bickering within the city council as the primary reason for his resignation. He stated: “I cannot be a part of what is going on with the back and forth badgering within the city council. It’s an embarrassing situation that I won’t have my name attached to.”

Upon receiving Barton’s resignation email, Council Clerk Miranda Wise promptly shared it with the council members and recommended that further committee meetings be postponed until a replacement for Barton is appointed.

Crawford County Now is committed to following the developments of this story as it unfolds. Stay tuned for more updates on this evolving situation within the Bucyrus City Council and the implications for the ongoing revision of the Property and Maintenance Code.
