Timothy Ward Jr. was sentenced to four years in prison Monday by Judge Russell Wiseman for his part in a robbery at the Galion Verizon store in September of 2009.
Ward’s co-defendant, Sean Petrik, had already been sentenced to prison after a jury convicted him.
Ward’s girlfriend, Kelly Nalley, was working at the store at the time of the robbery and spoke up for Ward at his sentencing in Crawford County Common Pleas Court. Nalley said she believed Ward would not have been involved had it not been for Petrik.
Ward will get credit for time served and will be eligible for early release after serving two years. Ward was also fined $250 and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $115.
In another case Joshua Rex changed his plea to guilty to charges of breaking and entering. Wiseman sentenced Rex to three years of community control, $425 in restitution, and a $250 fine.
