Bucyrus Trooper Laid To Rest On Monday

Approximately 500 law enforcement officers from across the state joined Ohio Governor Ted Strickland in Carey Monday for the funeral of Ohio State Patrol Trooper Andrew Baldridge.

The 25-year-old Baldridge had just graduated from the Patrol Academy in December and was killed Thursday when the cruiser he was driving went off the road and rolled over. Baldridge and passenger, Trooper Mark McLaughlin who was injured, were answering a call for mutual aid from a Wyandot County Sheriff’s Deputy. Both Baldridge and McLaughlin were assigned to the Bucyrus post.

Law enforcement officers from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and Pennsylvania attended the funeral. Baldridge was a Carey resident and graduated from Carey High School and the University of Findlay.
