Snow And Ice Blamed For 2-Car Crash

Snowy and icy road conditions were blamed for a two-car crash Sunday afternoon at the intersection of River Road and Marion-Melmore Road.

59-year-old Candace Schreck of Lemert Road was northbound on Marion-Melmore while 80-year-old Ruth Dunlap of Bloomville was eastbound on River Road. Dunlap attempted to stop, but lost control on the icy road, slid into the intersection and hit Schreck’s vehicle.

Dunlap’s vehicle eventually came to rest in a yard up against a tree. Schreck’s vehicle stopped in a field. Dunlap reported possible injury but was not transported to a hospital. Dunlap’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene as was Schreck’s. Schreck and her passenger, 2-year-old Carson Gravatt, were not injured.
